Auctions This Week

Auctions for the week of May 27th 2024.

It's Memorial Day and we have new auctions for mining based in the USA.

Stranded natural gas-backed bitcoin miningPlace your bid below!

Why Should I Mine?

Mining earns anonymous bitcoin right from the protocol, which is great, but why should you do your part to secure the network?

Bitcoin mining is centralized today. While mining farms are distributed around the world, the majority of hashrate goes to Foundry Pool and Antpool.

This lack of decentralization means bitcoin is vulnerable to censorship and reduced privacy for all of us. It means bitcoin is not as anti-fragile as we've come to believe. It doesn't have to be this way.

Now you can take the first step towards bringing mining back to its one-cpu-one-vote roots when you bid on hashrate and send to your own mining pool account.

When you buy hashrate and mine with a pool, you combine your hash with other bitcoiners to mine new blocks. As more and more of us buy hashrate and mine our own bitcoin, we decentralize mining away from these 2 giant pools.
